Smell The Honey - a first for IOM Stamps...
This beautiful stamp issue features the familiar art work of Richard Lewington and is dedicated to one of our most popular and beloved insects, recognising it’s crucial role in the life cycle of the natural world. But there is a sting in the tail of the story!
These beautiful gummed stamps are honey-scented to bring the images alive, a first for us at Isle of Man Stamps & Coins.
(Please note that the self-adhesive booklet stamps only smell of stamps).Apart from the honeybee, the Island is home to approximately 15 species of bumblebee and 57 species of solitary bee. To put this into perspective, currently there are known to be 24 species of bumblebees and over 200 solitary bee species recorded from the British Isles. These stamps have Royal approval !
